Attorney Douglas Shaw brings over 15 years of courtroom experience to Justin Camper Law, serving as co-counsel on complex criminal defense cases. With a distinguished career as a Felony Prosecutor in Lake and LaPorte Counties, Douglas has handled some of the region’s most serious cases—from major felonies to high-stakes trials—giving him an insider’s understanding of how the State prepares and prosecutes charges.

In addition to his prosecutorial work, Douglas has served as a Lake County Felony Public Defender in the Conflicts Division and operated his own private practice focused on criminal defense, juvenile law, and family law. His diverse background allows him to see cases from every angle, crafting strategies that protect clients and anticipate the State’s next move.

Douglas is known for his commanding courtroom presence, strong analytical skills, and ability to collaborate creatively with clients and colleagues alike. Beyond criminal law, his experience also spans family and civil litigation, contract negotiation, and mentoring attorneys in trial preparation and litigation strategies.
