Personal Experience

Julie Guillebeaux is a criminal defense attorney licensed in Indiana and Illinois, known for her courtroom presence, trial preparation, and no-nonsense advocacy for clients facing serious criminal charges.

Before joining the defense bar, she served as a prosecutor with the Will County Illinois State’s Attorney’s Office, where she tried jury and bench cases, examined expert and civilian witnesses, argued motions, negotiated plea agreements, and managed a demanding caseload. She understands how prosecutors build cases because she has done it herself—and she now uses that insight to expose weaknesses in the State’s evidence and aggressively defend her clients at every stage of litigation.

She has also served as a Judge Advocate (JAG) Officer with the Illinois Air National Guard since 2011, prosecuting criminal misconduct under the Uniform Code of Military Justice and advising commanders on complex legal and ethical matters. Her military service reflects discipline, decisiveness, and the ability to perform under pressure—qualities she brings into the courtroom.

Her background includes hands-on experience with both the Public Defender’s Office and civil litigation, giving her a comprehensive understanding of trial strategy, negotiation leverage, and client advocacy. She holds a Juris Doctor from Northern Illinois University College of Law, where she earned a Certificate in Criminal Practice Skills, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology.

She approaches every case with one objective: to fight relentlessly, prepare thoroughly, and hold the State to its burden of proof.
